These Terms of Service govern your use of the Forage app (“Application”) and the website foragewildfood.app, provided by Kevin Baur (the “Service Provider”) as a commercial service on an “AS IS” basis. By using the Application or website, you agree to these Terms.
Forage helps you discover and identify wild plants, berries, nuts and mushrooms, but identification is never 100% certain and many edible species have toxic lookalikes. Forage does not tell you whether any specific find is safe to eat, and gives no guarantee of edibility. Never eat anything based only on what the Application tells you — always confirm with a field guide, an experienced forager or a local expert. You forage entirely at your own risk. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service Provider accepts no liability for any illness, injury, loss or damage arising from foraging, identification, or the consumption of anything you find.
You are responsible for complying with all laws and regulations that apply where you forage. Foraging may be restricted or prohibited in nature reserves, national parks and other protected areas, on private land without the owner's permission, and for legally protected species. Do not locate, disturb or harvest protected species. Rules vary by country and region, so always check the local ones before you forage.
The Application lets you contribute content, including foraging spots, photos and notes, and posts, comments and follows in the community feed. You keep ownership of the content you create. By submitting it, you grant the Service Provider a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce and display that content in order to operate, provide and improve the service.
You are responsible for what you post and confirm you have the right to share it. You agree not to post false or misleading foraging information — such as fake spots or knowingly incorrect identifications — or content that is unlawful, harmful, infringing, or that could endanger others. The Service Provider may moderate, edit, remove or restrict any content, and may suspend or terminate accounts that break these rules, at its discretion.
The Application offers optional paid subscriptions and may offer one-time purchases. A free trial may be available for some plans; other plans may be offered without a trial. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
Payment is charged to your Apple App Store or Google Play account, and billing is handled by Apple or Google under their own terms. You can manage or cancel a subscription in your store account settings; cancelling stops future renewals, and access continues until the end of the paid period. Feature availability and any usage limits — such as the number of identification scans — are as described within the Application and may change over time.
The Application, the website and their content — excluding content you submit — including design, text, graphics, data and software, are owned by the Service Provider and protected by law. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, reverse-engineer or create derivative works from them except as expressly permitted.
You agree not to misuse the Application or website. In particular, you must not attempt to jailbreak, tamper with, decompile or reverse-engineer the Application, circumvent security or usage limits, or use the service in any way that harms it or other users.
The Application and website are provided on an “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service Provider is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for any loss arising from your use of, or inability to use, the service — including, without limitation, anything relating to foraging, identification or the consumption of wild food, as set out in the safety notice above.
The Service Provider may update these Terms from time to time. Changes take effect when posted on this page. Your continued use of the Application or website after changes are posted means you accept the updated Terms.
